House Beautiful Names Clementine Best Silk Pillowcase…

While silk is definitely associated with luxury, it's not widely accepted as the gold standard. In fact, some people think it's too good to be true (and, of course, are later converted to Team Silk). "I'll admit that I was a little skeptical about whether or not silk pillowcases are worth the money—but honestly, I'm a convert," Commerce Editor Samantha Jones admits, after sleeping on her Clementine Sleepwear pillowcase for months. She saw the difference in her skin and says, “I have seen a huge difference in my acne with this simple switch to silk. In the past, I almost always had at least a few breakouts around my mouth and chin at all times, but since switching to a silk pillowcase, those breakouts have significantly decreased. Plus, the silk fabric is noticeably cooler than my cotton and linen pillowcases, so I find it to be super comfortable in the summer."

When it comes to care and maintenance, Jones errs on the side of caution and skips the washing machine. "I usually handwash mine in the sink once a week with a little bit of hand soap, then let it hang dry before putting it back on my pillow. It definitely dries pretty wrinkly, so if you're adamant about having a super crisp-looking bed, you'll want to steam the pillowcase on low heat after washing."
